Can anyone suggest a suitable gear oil for the TR4 4 speed with overdrive transmission and the rear end with a salisbury type lsd?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I use Redline in both my street and race Healey. It works well with the electronic overdrive and in the LSD rearend. It does however leak through the wonderful British seals ever more than standard oils.

I use Redline MT 90 in the transmissions of the street Healeys, both of which have Toyota Five-speeds and the Courier which has an MGA CR box. I have not noticed increased leakage in any but definitely think that shifting is far superior than when using Castrol 10w/30.

I use Mobil 1 or other high grade synthetic diff oil--mixed with 25% STP engine oil treatment in the rear axle.

On the Elva I change all fluids--engine, transmission and diff--after every race event.

Dougie-

Are you saying that Redline causes more leaks than other oils you've tried?

I think it's about the same in the tranny, the diff. is solid no leaks.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you guys ever tried "Swepco"?

I've heard good things about it from other drivers but have no first hand knowledge about it.
