loose bonnet hinges

i have my bonnet off at the moment to do some work in the engine bay, and i have found that the hinges are loose where they are mounted to the body tub. it seems that it is a fairly beefy pin that the hinge rotates on. does anyone have any fixes to tighten the slop out of the hinge?
thanks in advance.

Charlie, there is some slop in the hinges by themselves but when bolted to your bonnet that doesn't seem to be a problem. They counteract each other in that one plane of movement.

so, the play in the hinges is normal then? how much should there be? i can wiggle the tops of the hinges about 1/2" in either direction.

If they where tight. Then you'd have ones from BMW
