Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one look?

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

You guys are too funny. If you're ever in Hilton Head and need a place to store your B (and yourself) for the night, let us know. Careful though, we'll probably pick your brains and make you take us for rides!

If worse came to worse...and it was a question of space....

I would have to put them on my Wife's seat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

I've played a HH course... back inna '70's. Can't for th' life of me remember which one. I'd rather go pub crawlin'... and restaurant explorin'. No stowage space required!

You are in for a heck of a ride on this forum. Lots of good people, great knowledge and wonderful senses of humor.

Though we often tend to lack the ability to stay on topic. We eventually get back around to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Kandace, I saw an MG in the Greenville (SC) paper last week. I'll take a second look at the ad and see if it is something worth investigating.

Run don't walk away from this car and seller. Seriously.
This is a $3500 car at best.

Down in my neck of the woods, it might be a $1,000 car....keep looking - that's a project car!

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

"PROJECT" bein' the operative word here. Waaay more than a "turn-key" car, IMO.

...You're up LATE there, Old Man! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

Just got in from weekend at daughter's - grandson's christening!

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

Heavens, don't want a project car--I'll be an MGB widow for sure! Just keep your eyes peeled, boys. There's one out there for me. And if it has chrome bumpers, all the better! Feel like I have a bunch of big brothers looking out for me.

And we're happy to welcome golfers, pub crawlers, restaurant lovers, beachgoers, sightseers, and well, pretty much anyone else to our little slice of paradise. Got plenty of room and a hot tub! But be warned: I am the mother of 4 (yes, 4) boys under the age of 13. Things are not normal at my house! But I've got my own pit crew for the B!!!!

Re: Looking to buy my 1st B--how does this one loo

Ok guys, check this out. Not fond of rollbar or seat belt harnesses (can they be removed) and IMHO the red bumpers are kinda funky. Any thoughts, gentlemen? Asking price w/extra stuff (do I need/want that stuff?) is $8500 obo. Seems like a lot. Thanks again. And Great Pumpkin, what a beautiful family. You must be very proud.

Here's the listing:
1971 MGB shiny red exterior beautiful black leather interior with red piping. Three inch wide red shoulder harnesses along with a tall roll bar provide added safety and a secure feel. Pirelli P4000 touring tires mounted on classic mini lite wheels, V8 suspension bushes, tube shocks and a new scratch free wind screen enhance the driving experience. Strong engine with downdraft Weber and stainless steel header. convenient spin on oil filter, oil cooler with stainless steel braided lines, a pressurized engine pre-oiling system (lubricates the engine prior to start up extending the engine life) engine rebuild 1993 with less than 3,000 miles driven. The tan soft top is in good condition. This beautiful MG is a joy to drive and comes with a spare overdrive transmission and a strong spare engine properly fogged prior to storage in my climate controlled garage. At the time of purchase the new owner is welcome to examine my spare parts collection and purchase additional spares for 20 % of the new catalog price. You won’t find a better deal on a 71 MGB !
