TR6 looking for info on doing a T5 swap

I'm happy to re-invent the wheel if I -have- to, but I'd be just as happy to follow in a successful swap's footsteps

I'm planning to use a TR3 bell housing, so I guess I need to know where to chop it and how best to align the gearbox. Also, what clutch arrangement did you use?

It has been done, but is a lot of tedious work, and the gear lever will not be in the correct position, although a new gear lever can be custom made.
I have both a T5 and a toyota W58 gearbox at my disposal. Have opted to use the W58 with a dedicated triumph to toyota bell housing as it is less work and looks "factory".

Looking at this website, I think the Isuzu Rodeo T5 should put the shifter in the right place. I plan to measure one sometime soon, and will report back

I helped a guy install one of Goeff Duponts T5 transmissions in a TR6 nearly 20 years ago.
That person and Goeff are out of the TR6 hobby as of now, but I did find this about another installation:

You are exactly correct!
I also have the Toyota W58 in my TR6. I got a new bell housing that mates to the Toyota transmission on one end and the Triumph on the other. This setup is virtually plug and play. Shifter lines up perfectly. No cutting, no welding. It’s looks stock and I love the 5-speed.
Oh, yeah, I also have the hydraulic throw out bearing which is also a plus to me.
