Got my wife her convertable finally, a '71. I even feel guilty about what I paid for it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, but it got my mechanic's blessing, as he told me about it.

It has new front fenders, new bonnet, newer Rad. new emergency brake cable, new king pins and bushings in the front suspension. Also with HS 4 carbs.
The only rust is where the splash guard is eaten on the bottom. I want to get new ones and get some protection in there. The interior is not too bad. It has the dash cover, but the dash still needs cosmetics. The steering wheel is yuckey. The car is being run on one batery, and it is connected Neg. ground, so if these were origionally Pos. Ground, it has been converted. The top is like new except the windows are a little dirty. Need to find out what I need to use on them to clear them up????
The engine needs a good cleanup, but again.. no rust. The car starts and idles nicely, but I noticed a slight sparking from a connection on the bottom of the Bosch coil. Maybe this has somthing to do with the brake lights staying on when the ignition is turned to on.
I let it run in the driveway for about 15 minutes; the oil pressure guage sat around 65 to 70. It definatly needs an oil change, plugs, wires.. GEE everything I can take out of the GT smiling smiley
This is going to give me a serious delema about continuing with the GT. I will have to decide soon, as both cars fit in the garage, but I will need room to work on the GT.
Anyway, What do youz all think? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
