Look What's In My Garage Tonight...

Hello Tony,

I wonder how many are left?, I rarely ever see one here in the U.K., not common at all.
Are you aware of the larger version of that V8, which Daimler fitted to the Majestic Major sedan, 4.5 litre, that was a real wolf in sheeps clothing. William Lyons stopped making it when he bought Daimler as it was faster than his Mk 10 at the time.

Alec

gee Tony you can bring it to the car show next year, btw I took 1st with the LE today

First, congrats on the win, chuck - you deserve it!

Now, to the Daimler....here are some photos I took today:

And if you're still reading...lemme tell you how my day went:

If you remember, I told you that Friday I had jokingly put a $15,000 price tag on it...well, the word apparently got around my local club because early this morning as I was relaxing on the back porch in a swing with my morning paper, one of the local doctors came by to see my 'rare find'....he took a few photos, asked a few questions, & handed me a check....well, my mouth dropped to the ground..."You're kidding?" "Nope, there's one on ebay that's not as nice as yours and I know their reserve. Can you deliver it this afternoon?"

So, guess what's not in my garage tonight! Needless to say, I delivered it! Darnedest thing that's ever happened to me!

What a quick turn and burn. Congrats!!
That other car on ebay is very close to where I work. Kinda thought you were picking up the one in Orlando. I can take a look if somebody needs.
Rick

&, Rick, their reserve is $12,500.

shoulda said $20k, youda probably got that too. Cool car, and congrats on the sale (I think) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're probably right, Kenny....remember my graddad's addage: "The man who mentions money first, loses."

Nope, never drove it...but the new owner promised I could.

I'm in awe yet again, Tony. You really are officially da man. Of course, the quick sale probably means you didn't set a high enough "joking" price!

Man, you snatched this right out of my back yard..........and then flipped it!?
OUCH! I never knew it was for sale.

Oh well.
Have a nice day
Steve

Well bowled, Sir.

New owner called today & ordered a new solenoid, fuel sending unit, & mirror for fender...also got directions to my radiator guy's shop - they're taknig the gas tank & radiator to him for cleaning....bet they have it running in a week!

So not only does he sell it quick like, but he's now selling parts for it. I bow in the presence of a master... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe you shouldn't hear it run, you might get seller's remorse!

When I retire I want to be just like Tony! I, too, bow deeply to the master!
Let's see retirement = 5.3436 years from now.

I don't get it.....

Ah, young grasshoppers, a lifetime spent with these cars paying off in old age is!

Ok, Ok, enough comments on the styling (or lack thereof). Looks like a really nice car Tony, what is the serial #? (found on the frame cross member under the fan). Let me know if there is anything I can email you in the way of parts, service, etc. info.
BTW, that Ebay car with a 349 build # is probably not a 62 tho it may have been titled in 62...and certainly not one of the "last year produced".

Oh..ignore my post on you bringing it home. I missed all this post and then was at Stowe for the Brits Invade show.

I've always wanted to hate those cars but I just can't. They're so ugly that they're beautiful! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The real beauty is under the bonnet.----Keoke
