Light switch knob removal?????

Howdy All, I just got used dash light switch to replace the dead one in my car. My question is , How do you remove the knob to install switch in dash? There is a hole on the side of the knob with a "pin" inside. I have tried pushing in pin and pulling knob but am afraid to use much force. Don't want to screw up thru stupidity. Thanks Steve

Steve:
Push the pin in as far as you can, pull straight out on the knob {No Twisting} It may be stuck on there pretty good from all the accumulation of crud over the years. You may want to spray it with some P.B. blaster or something simular to help loosen up the crud. The hole in the knob has a flat side twistin` it will surely break it!

Thanks Kerry, I had put a drop of Kroil in the hole before my first post . Just went down and gave the punch a light tap and the pin went in and knob came off. Thanks Again , Steve
