Lets see your engine bay

I want to get ideas of how to dress the engine bay. I also want to ditch all the emissions junk. So lets see what you did. I'm mainly considering if I should powdercoat parts, get chrome or black engine dressings, dual carbs, etc.... so post your favorite engine pics....

Mine are pretty much 'plain jane'. Nothing painted that wasn't painted by the factory, nothing polished that wasn't originally polished. Still, here is the TR4...

Here's part of the engine bay in my 1500 Spridget.

This was taken to document the "emergency repair" we did (used Vise-Grips to hold on the carb when the upper stud failed during practice). It held on nicely for the subsequent 2 hour enduro.

Hard to see everything due to poor picture quality, but there is a header, heat-shield, cold-air hose, PVC plastic intake horn with "bug-screen" air filter and copper-tube crankcase vent, S&S single pumper carb, fuel-pressure regulator.

This is a "working" engine and it never looks pretty.

My TR250

I have since replaced the battery with a sealed Optima, and installed a shroud, but this is pretty much as it looks under the bonnet.

Allright Bryan! - another "classic" engine bay!

I think others are just embarrased to show em.

as Frank Zappa said: "There's a lot more of us ugly people out here so you pretty people better watch out!"

Not that I've got anything against a pretty engine - Some day.... Some day.... But I'm not afraid to show it and I'm certainly not afraid to drive it. It may be ugly but it's running like a scared rabbit right now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
