So ... anything left from your Thanksgiving dinner?

Here it's turkey, stuffing, ham, brussels sprouts (!), cornbread, carrots and onions, cranberry/orange relish, and lots of pies: pumpkin rum, apple walnut, chocolate cream, mince, peach, and PECAN!

Here it's left over GUMBO! Instead of turkey, I opted to make a really large (is there any other way?) gumbo with chicken, andouille sausage, shrimp, oyster and crab. As they say in Louisiana, "First, you make a roux!"

You got 'DAT right, mes ami!

I fried four turkeys yesterday and then cooked the carcasses clean in just a bit of water. Makin's for several pots of gumbo this winter!

Many of our leftovers left with the relatives and friends, but there is still turkey, potato filling, cornbread filling, "grandma" filling that is made from Peg's grandmother's recipe for a sliceable filling loaf, cranberry relish, corn casserole, green beans, squash, and pumpkin pie. We finished the apple crumb and cherry crumb pies yesterday. A number of families have goodies for several days...

Didn't anyone see "The Deadliest Catch" commercial? Their trying to get us to eat crab for the holidays from now on. I wonder why?

Hey Nutmeg!! Looks like some of your leftovers are escaping!!!

Nutmeg, leftovers. Not for long. He may be little but he just might have a really big appetite or the need to share with the family pet(s).

Not for long... here in Scotaln my Thanksgiving celebrations aren't common so they provide all the interested/amused neighbors & friends with little treats afterwards- Turkey snadwiches, pumpkin pie, cornbread, etc. So we get off lightly....
