Wow Well I have fianly driven the Shaguar I started the project 4 years ago in Miami with my mechanic from chilly I finished (HA not quite) with a swedsih buddy. there is a question at the end of this.
ok so I put the new tank in I wired it up cut out out the old floors welded in the new floors. we redid the brakes turnd the rear drums. frid a bunch of points finally gave up and disconected the tach. and we had a guy come over and balnence the carbs so they ran sweeeeet!!! oh and new European head lights.
I had a big oil leak at the back of the block so I sent it off to mechanic from Latfia he pulled the engine and put in all the seals at the bottom of the block but the gear box was empty an he was worried about the oil leaking out the front. we found out it should. but he did try and engeener a bit of a grommet on the front of the tranny under the front plate
he tossed it back together ran it for 20 minutes with no leaks
and hoped off on vacation. I picked the car up this morning for my import and EU inspection well 4 miles later im leaking oil again.. I took it to the in spection it pass it took two hours and the only thing they dint like was the light aiming.
and after alot of paper work
they didn't like my license plate P-1275 which was the only letter available with 1275 so I had to order new plates with out a "P" so next week I get i-275. so Mats and I checked all the fluids and then went for a long drive with the top down
a little rain on the windshield. after an hour we got to a place with 6000 year old rock carving and stopped Mats advance the timing a little and we noticed a bit of smoke yes smoke coming out of the top rubber seal of the transmission bell housing. so we let it cool looked at the rain deer carving and the man on skis. then drove back to mats place at which point we checked the fliuds we went from 2mm under max to 1 mm under min!!! some left by blowing out the dip stick but most was dripping out the bell housing and it looked pretty clean so maybe that came from the tranny.
why wont it Stop!!!!!!
any ideas???
and I gave Mats a bottle of Highland Park (400nrk twice the price as in the US) thanking him for his pit and welder and a thousand other little kindnesses
