TR2/3/3A Leaking New Brake/Clutch Reservoir

On inspecting my TR3A after winter storage, I noticed brake fluid on the floor pan under the petal cluster. Further investigation found brake fluid leaking from the NEW Classic Gold reservoir. It appears to be coming from the fitting on the reservoir versus the fitting on the pipes running from the reservoir to the master cylinders. This is the second season I've had the new reservoir in the car and hadn't noticed any leakage before. Has anyone else had a new reservoir start leaking after being installed for a period of time?
Thanks,
Stu

The fittings could have become lose inside the reservoir at the rubber seals inside the reservoir fittings. To check you need put a socket inside the reservoir to hold the fittings. I think it a thin walled 11/16 or 5/8.

Thanks Steve. I'll give that a try.

Just check there are copper washers on either side (inside and outside) of the two fittings. Unlikely to be a problem as it sounds like things were OK last year, but I just fitted a new reservoir and it leaked because a washer was missing.

Steve, Bob , and 'auprichard',
Thanks for the replies to my inquiry. My new Classic Gold reservoir had 11/16 fittings on the inside of the can, and I found the fitting in the clutch tube was loose. Unfortunately, tighening it didn't solve the leaking. I finally gave up, ordered a new reservoir from TRF, and the problem is solved.
Thanks for the help. This forum is most useful.

Identical problem here. I’m hoping to replace just the $2 Dowty washers instead of the $140 Classic Gold can. Someone said they were 1/2” ID. Anyone care to chime in? Jim

When my classic gold started to leak I completely disassembled the fittings, replacing the slightly cupped washers and oring type seals with flat washers and high quality about .060 gasket paper.I think I had to grind the side off a socket to hold back on the inside.

2023 had 2 new each from seperate vendors leak immediately after install never got TR6 out of garage with either, leak appears to have occured somewhere in/around hydraulic unit the fluid reservior is attached to, fluid was light lime green like radiator fluid but with oily vs watery feel & no antifreeze smell, still a mystery today

Actually, mine needed a 3/4" socket...
