Very little rust.

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Ben
I would be all over it if it was on this coast. My 2cents is to put it on Ebay. You will get a lot more for it! We all want you to get the most you can for the project. If you have the title done and could ship the car, I know a buyer in the Netherlands.

Come on Paul! Spring for it. You could use another project!

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Uh-oh...

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Well, I was hoping for more, but I need to be realistic about what I have. I don't have the spending cash right now to get paperwork started. I had hoped to have that half of my garage clear in May, and the VW has been sitting waiting for a carb conversion since April, and finances are gettin really pinched until the fall semester starts and I can go back to teaching.
It all needs to happen.
Nice talkin' to you Marv, Here's hoping it works out.
I also need to make room for a Buffalo Forge I'm borrowing from a friend to try my hand at some blacksmithing.

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Was kidding with my "Uh-oh" post, of course. Marv's a collector. I'm sure if the terms can be worked out, he'll do the TR2 proud.

Actually, I wish I had the space and resources for it. Even though I had a TR3 and sold it because it wasn't to my liking, a 2 would be a neat car to restore and show.

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

If i saw this earlier, I may have jumped on it myself... not that I really have the time or space for it right now finishing the Hathaway, but I'm certainly a lot closer to Horsheads NY than Marv =D

Same thing I felt about my sale.At least it is gone ...well almost

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

I've previously been working with an overseas buyer (Since the beginning of May) He's not happy with me for ending our deal, but I'm not very happy about how long this has been stretching out with still no end in sight.(Technically never a beginning even)
I'll take my lumps and happily move on. I'm glad to see it go to someone here on the BCF anyway. Than I may get a chance to see it get completed.
And I feel better about all the parts fellow members sent me to help out staying in this "community".

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

I just realized today that with this car I will have every year of the TR2's and 3's from 1954 to 1962. Didn't plan this and certainly can't keep them all but its cool right now.

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Uh Oh Marv.... They made TR2s for half a year in 53 as well.... Guess you gotta get one more! (and a long door at that!)

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

I have TS1323 which is a Apr 54 long door car, your car TS5012 according to Piggott is late, late Dec 54 or early Jan 55 which is okay with me. I have all the major styles of side curtain cars. I doubt I will ever find a 53 car without spending two fortunes for it.

Works for me.....

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

I think that you both did the right thing. Congrats to each of you.

As for the overseas buyer..."he who hesitates is lost".....

Re: up-date of the TR2 sale.

Finally! Got the TR2 today. Its just as Ben described, I'm very pleased. Now the shipping Broker and Truck driver different story. To put it as nice as I can, they both need to find another profession. WILL NOT recommend Nationwide, anyone want details just PM me. Have had fun today unloading the car. It was sitting about 2 inched off the ground from all the parts Ben had stuffed in there. It will take a week to sort thru all of it.

Thanks Ben (Banjo)!

Marv
