Not sure what I am in for post op but I'm going in Friday AM for knee surgery. If I'm good maybe I'll get MG presents!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif

What kind of knee surgery? Just a clean out or the whole deal?

vping, chin up! itll just slow your jump shot down for a while, on the knee that doesnt require surgery take a felt marker and write "not this one", youll be o.k. let us hear from you post-op, youll be using your computers "word spell" more often for the first few days, good luck. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

We'll be sending positive vibes your way. And my suggestion: cancel your bowling plans for at least the rest of the day.

Sey gezunt!
Tom

Take it easy Vince, take the pills ( /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif ) and rest up. The cars will still be there when you get better.
Get a bunch of DVDs because daytime TV is gruelling.

Oh, man - good luck Vinnie - keep us appriased of the results....some of us are also facing joint surgery so you're our guinea pig!!

Torn miniscus but hopefully nothing more. I'm usually a work through the pain guy when it comes to getting hurt - I'm the "if you pack dirt & grease in a cut it heals faster than bandaids" kinda guy. Should be routine in & out and I'm looking forward to sitting on the couch with my leg up and the intercom at my side. Wife & three kids at my beckon call.
There's my monthly MG meeting same night - hmmm go there and show how I can take the pain, be dedicated to MG's but, lose the ability to use my intercom to beckon effectively? I think I'll sit this one out and take advantage of the surgery slowing me down and relax. It's been a while since I've just done nothing and chilled.

Take advantage of the back and call for as long as they'll let you. You probably earned it over the years...

Good luck btw.

Good Luck Vince with the miniscus. Ask you doc if you
should maybe take an aspirin as a blood thinner.

I had the torn miniscus removed, the tiny cut threw a
clot and I spent a year in rehab from a stroke it caused.
I'll bet an aspirin would have worked.

Best of luck.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery... and do take it
easy. When we truly have a good excuse, we must take
full advatage of them.

Vince
Good Luck!!
Take it easy afterward, you've earned it.
Run all the MG scenarios through your head, and then ,later, you can execute the plans.

GOOD LUCK VINNIE!!

Post back ASAP. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

I wonder if it is only the micro surgery? If so that's not bad at all. Couple days and you preaty well good to go.

Torn Meniscus should be not really that big a deal.

Out here in the middle of the Pacific, where the medical community operations is usually lagging behind the mainland, I had my left knee done arthoscopically a few months back. Torn on both the inside and outside. I thought, because of the pain before the surgery, that I had ACL problem.

They pumped the knee up and punctured two holes, on on the inside and one on the outside. Removed the torn meniscus, trimmed the rough edges, packed me in ice, woke me up and sent me home. Hopped around for a couple of days, hobbled for about a week. Now It's better than it's been for years. If I had the time I'd probably get back into Scottish Country Dancing, that's how good the job is.

So, you should be doing fine, ok, fully operational in a couple of months.

I'm back! I was in and out and by 10:30 was sitting at the diner with my wife and that was after a stop at CVS for meds. Some pain but we'll see.
