Does anyone have ant advise on how to find parts for my LBC in local junkyards?

I need some BGT bits, that would cost too much if I tried to buy repro parts. They'd also cost too much to ship in.

I don't know of any LBC-specific yards around here, so I need some advice on the best way to find the parts I need.

Has anyone had much luck getting parts for British cars from "mainstream" salvage yards?

Junkyard these days (at least around here) have very few old cars. These days however, all the junk yards have set up a network so if you're looking for something one doesn't have, they will put out a call to the rest for you.

Unless you happen to find a yard that specializes in older cars, most yards today crush them after a few years & try to focus o the newer models where there's still money from insurance companies for body parts. Everytime my local yard happens upon an old MG, they just haul it to me - they don't want them!

What type parts? Heck, shipping a fender to you is gonna be the most expensive thing unless you're talking engines or transmissions!

Tony, got an off the hip (won't hold you to it) estimate for shipping a pair of GT fenders?
(to LA or maybe say to WA. zip 98065)
Got a good pair of late 60's GT fenders on hand?

I'm gonna guess - without a zip code - that a pair to the West Coast would be about $125 via FEDEX Ground

I've got several GT fenders - just have to look at particular type/years.

I like Tony's website a lot better.
