Now, if you can find an old Volvo, I think you can get the Weber to go with that intake - Doc will know.

That's a really good price for that haul. Locally (central California) I've found a lot of yards with dead LBC, but most of them tend to charge a premium even for the little bits - and I'm not real comfortable with loading down my cargo pockets, ya know? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

That's great!

PS - You planning on selling the a/c dash plaque?

Plan on putting the AC dash plaque in my 78 I'm restoring. It came with AC but no plaque. There is one on EBAY if you search by MGB air conditioning and go down to Stores.

I think a dead Fiat 124 of mid-to-late '70's vintage would have a Weber which would bolt up. Not sure about the Volvos.

Rick

I went to ebay and did that search and found a related bit: There's a guy there who has an a/c kit that has the octagon logo on the under-dash vent piece. Based on his buy-it-now price, he's pretty proud of it - but this is the first time I've seen that piece on ebay.

You defininitely made a great haul, Rick.

Ah - Fiat then, not Volvo....if mre guys knew that, there'd be a lot fewer carbs on Fiats in junkyards...I know where there's a couple myself but I don't like Webers!

I'm no fan of the progressive downdraft ones but a DCNF or two (or four, or six) would pass the test! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Make a gasket template and check the bolt-hole matches before you "check out!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Hey Rick
That AC kit is thru James Dean. He's posted here on the BCF but I haven't read anything lately.

If I didn't already have a complete a/c system I'd be tempted to snag that, high price or not, just for the under-dash bits. That'd be a nice touch for somebody.

Or a 4-pot Pinto or a Ford Capri (circa 71-77). Holley 5200, licensed from Weber. Might need to rejet it, but it will bolt right up.

I just so happen to have that carb, from a 2.2 Dodge, in pieces in a box somewhere. Needs new gaskets and a new needle valve.

No Tony, you are not going to find Webra carbs on old Volvo's they predominantly used the SU. However, if by chance you found an old Volvo with a Weber on it ,it was an aftermarket upgrade supplied by IPD in Oregon.---Fwiw--Keoke

Sounds like you are talking about the Weber that is also known as the Holly-Weber 5200 series, came on the Pinto's, Vega's and some Dodge products in the early 70's. If so then I have one (from a Pinto, with pancake air cleaner) that I'll sell for $20.00 plus shipping.
Bill
Also known as the VW Beetle "bug-spray" carb.
