On This Day 66 Years Ago (28th Sept 1949) The stunning Jowett Jupiter, the Bradford company’s only sports car, first appeared at the London Motor Show, having been designed in 4 months by the famous Austrian engineer Dr Robert Eberan von Eberhorst and Jowett’s in-house body stylist Reg Korner. Two complete Jupiters were on the road in March 1950. The third Jupiter raced at Le Mans in June 1950 and won its class. The first production batch of five cars was built in October 1950, and the last Jupiter left the factory in November 1954.
