[hold the jokes guys...]

Just used one of these for the first time and all I can say is WOW! I thought I was going to have to replace a bracket and thereby hold up my front suspension rebuild but this worked extremely well. I'm addicted...

I was shocked at how well the die cleaned up the bracket - I was just about ready to throw it away and buy a new one but this fixed it in about 2 minutes...

Look for "thread chasers" as opposed to a die for cleaning threads on already threaded studs/fasteners. Dies tend to cut deeper and thus introduce stress risers. The "chasers" are less intrusive to the "valley" of the resident threads.

...just a hint.

Hi Doc - I hear you. In my case the bracket threads where really messed up, so I needed the die. I did "clean" a couple other bolts before I realized that I was taking metal off which started to seem like a bad idea. Thanks for the hint!

I've looked for "thread chasers" for years and never found what I needed. Most places I've asked have no idea what I'm asking for.

He's got a car with an aluminum engine. He'll find out about those quick.

You must Heli-Coil the bolts that hold the rear hub to the aluminum swing arm!!! Those little bolts are real easy to strip out.

Hi Donn - the lower A-arms mounting brackets are that size thread where the meet the mounts on the frame.
Huh? Which car is that? The smallest bolts I can think of that would meet that description are on a TR2-4, and they are 5/16". The later cars use even bigger ones.
