With the help of some friends I finally got the car flipped. I'm actually quite proud since I did it with about $80 in supplies... I think I'm going to be up all night listening for it to fall!

This was the plan until we decided to just us an engine stand instead of making another base...Because both bases have 3+ points of contact on the floor and there are pins in the pipe that they rotate on, it can't really fall...

That said, I am thinking of making the second wooden base so I can connect them and move it around the garage more easily.

The reason for connecting the two ends is to avoid distorting the chassis. :cry:
 
I'd at least brace the center with a floor jack or something just to make sure it don't sag or bow the chassis.

I can just flip it and let it sit right side up so it distorts back :smile: (That was a joke)...But now that you mention it I should have paid more attention in statics class, never thought I would have needed use it again considering I'm an EE...

Mine was wood also and it didn't distort the chassis (as far as I know) but when I tried to move it, it didn't move together. For all you need, I am sure you can attach something tight enough to the engine stand end.
