I love old tractors. In the 70's and 80's we farmed with four of them. All John Deere's, a model LA, B, 70 gas, and 720 diesel. The 720 had a gasoline pony motor for cold weather starting and an electric starter for warm weather.

I spent many a hour on the seat of a little IH Super C with a 7 ft John Deere Sciklebar mower behind it. Oh my aching back I must have mowed half of Steele county with that writched machine. Sharping the blades in the mornig and mowing till dark yuk. I remember checking the oil was opening a petcock on the side of the oil pan No oil ?check the next one down. Oil? add one quart. I admit it was a lot of fun so much alfalfa so many 180 acre fileds seem to go on for ever.

Aww, c'mon Paul! We could "upgrade" it and mention engines David Brown equipped some tractors with. :wink:
