what's involved in raising the steering rack? (my car is lowered)
How hard is it to replace the rubber seal on the piston of a ZS carb? (mine leaks)
Do all spridgets without wire wheels have the same axle shafts? what's the spline?
Where can I get a good tutorial on a tranny rebuild on a 1500? (second gear synchros are worn in mine)

Can you fit a chevy small block into a midget 1500? Who sells a green soft top? Why can't I get my subwoofer, amp, and 12 disc cd changer to work in my 1500? How's that for starters /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Raise the rack the same amount that the car is lowered. As you are handy with a welder, I would make custom mounts were I you.

I just did mine and used the Haynes manual. It's a lot easier than you think.

No idea. I have the thinnest cheapest tires I could find on my car. It's a grocery getter.

Haven't done this on a Midget, but on other cars I have dropped the tank, pulled the float, and cleaned the contacts on the float. They get pretty gummed up over the years.

Remove the canister. The bottom screws off. Buy filter charcoal from a pet store with a good fish department. (comes in a carton) Wash the charcoal then dry it on a cookie sheet in the oven. Use a cut coffee filters to replace the old paper filters. Refill with clean, dryed charcoal. Easy.

If you still have the stock alternator, it is way under powered for this. Buy an alternator for 78 Camero 305 and install it as described on this website https://teglerizer.com/alternator/index.html

Rob, mine did the same thing until it finally gave up the ghost completely. Two problems: The voltage stabilizer quit, so I built a solid state 10 volt regulator for it. ($5 in Radio Shack parts, let me know if you're interested) That made it work a little longer, but never read quite right and finally died. That involved dropping the gas tank. The spade lug that comes from the gauge had corroded, and as near as I could tell the tank never had a really good ground. So, I cleaned up the spade lug, and coated it with dielectric grease. Then I soldered a wire directly onto the body of the sender (big soldering gun), and ran a wire from the grounding point under the trunk latch. Hmm, hadn't thought of that, but I'll see if I can get it into a form for the knowledge base. I know the circuit off the top of my head, but I'll see if I can put together something with some pictures of how it's built. If you're handy with a soldering iron it's not hard to build, and it's worked fine for me.
