I am not knocking the spridget I have put lots of time and effort into it. In fact I am real excited to see how all the uprgrades and mods work out when I register it in the next week or two. It will be nice having an alternator so I can run the heater, wipers and headlights all at the same time and the inflatable electric pumped lumbar cushion in the seat will fell good too I hope, plus I added a Datsun 5 speed and change the rear final drive from a 3.90 to a 3.55 ratio. Now that I have done this one, I feel confident I can handle a big healey project now. I learned a lot of dos and don'ts along the way, especially in the bodywork and learning to use basecoat/clearcoat department. I will just keep my eyes open and maybe one will come to me  Anyways, this is my spridget and I am waiting on the next step.Steve P. said:Hope you find a big Healey someday! Don't knock your
Spridget though. I have 2 big Healeys and 3 Spridgets
and the Spridgets are much more fun to drive. I know,
booo, hisss, and bah humbug. But its true! While big
Healeys are indeed fun to drive compared to most cars,
you can't take a corner in a big Healey like you
can in a Spridget. Not even close. Plus you feel
like you're going 90 mph when you're only doing 40.

Yes, I do need to see about joining the local club. I have heard that there is one but I never checked it out. Now that I actually have a car that is going on the road then I might fit in or whatever. There is bound to be several other spridget owners in these hills.glemon said:I have had AHs (big and little) TRs and MGs, they all have their pluses and minuses, but I like, no actually love, them all.
Kim the Midget looks great.
I belong to an Austin Healey Club that really started as a Sprite club and evolved into a multi marque LBC club, although all groups are made up of individuals and each has his own opinions, I have to say the overall view of the club is all LBCs are "good things" we want to see them at our shows and events, they don't need to be perfect to be appreciated, etc.
But of course as you go through LBC life many of us want to try and do different things, so nothing wrong with wanting other cars, and doesn't mean you don't like what you have at all.
I would like to own a Lotus, XKE, TVR, Daimler (SP250), 60s Jag Sedan, Alfa GTV, Volvo 1800 (hey thay have SUs and Laycock overdrive, I think that makes them honorary British), Saab Sonnet, etc.
Unfortunately I spend an inordinate time workking on my car projects and reading about LBCs so I haven't made enough $$ to buy them all at once.
Getting back to your dream Kim, I wanted a big healey for along time, and kept looking and looking for years until I actually found one locally that I could afford, it needed much but actually ran and drove to some extent when bought.
Be patient and thorough (join and be active in your local club, scour the net and local want ads regualarly) and it will happen eventually.
I think your Midget is very nice. I almost said cute but... Anyway I am one of those that enjoys all cars that are well kept by their owners and can appreciate any vehicle that speaks well for itself. I have Agatha a 100-M and Onslow a 97 Jaguar XJS 2+2 convertible. We have a daily driver, Emma Envoy and old Mr. Dodge, a 48 1/2 ton pick-up. We think all our vehicles are special.
