Got my coil yesterday from Jeff Schlemmer.
Checking on eBay, there are a lot of these; $49 looks to be on the low side of average with prices up to $79.

It's definitely not oil-filled as no sloshing sound, unlike the pertronix. Size is same as pertronix and lucas sport, so stock bracket will fit.

The bosch coils are oil filled, they are just topped up so you won't hear any sloshing. Almost all the German cars use that bosch "blue" coil.

Pertronix vs Points, having worked on many different British cars, I'd say among my customers it's about 50/50.

Pertronix help stabilize the idle and I've found I can get most cars to idle lower and smoother. I feel they help mask a worn distributor, and may reduce spark scatter. The issue is when they go wrong, which they do, it's difficult to hone in on what the cause actually is.

Points work fine, as long as you get the good quality points that don't bounce at high rpm.

I run points.

There ain't no such animal some just bounce less than others.

Don't know how you tell good ones from bad unless you have an Oscilloscope.=:peaceful:.

Just returned a side entry distributor cap because there was not connectivity from the carbon coil button to the coil wire post. Quality is tough to get!
