I have to confess that my 1955 BN1 has the louvered bonnet, and a 100M grill badge. It is also Reno Red, which was a BN2 colour, not BN1. I only became aware that the grill badge said 100M last weekend at the Goodwood Revival Meeting here in UK, when someone admired the car and asked me if it was a real 100M. I replied that it wasn’t, and have just ordered a standard 100 grill badge for it, as I hate the thought of misrepresenting the car. Interestingly, it won the UK Austin Healey Club concours some years back, before I bought it, but I guess in those days no one bothered about such inconsistencies. While I’m here, does anyone know when or if cross-head screws, rather than slotted screws, were used on the interior trim when new?
