I need to bleed the brakes again. I noted that the fluid resivor was down, no leaks that I can see and the pedal is just a bit better after one pump.

Going to pick Miss Agatha up tomorrow and double check fittings along with a bleed.

Will also pull the tac drive cable an put a bit of grease in there as well, think it is binding a bit and causes the cable to kind of thump around under the dash.

Still not real happy with the carb settings, seems to be a bit lean still. Will keep messing with them. Good reason to keep taking Miss Agatha out for a short run. I know I should be able to tune the carbs in the driveway but I seem to have lost the touch.

Off to the Bay British Car show in Panama City. Miss Agatha says she does not want to go till she is ready, I mean really ready. She misses her headlights, grill, and seats, hehe.

Guess I am going to have to spend some serious money soon and get this kind of finished up so she can be registered and such.

Jack- If you suspect that you are running lean be very careful of driving too far- you could burn an exhaust valve. IMHO it is always better to be a little too rich than any too lean.

Just can't seem to get them right. Will keep playing.

4th item on that page works for sure. I have not used the others. It used to be marketed as Uni-Syn..works good

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif I have one and use it often, though quite frankly I still keep a tube in the boot for roadside adjustments and I think I get them just as close when I use the old hose-in-the-ear trick and listen to the hiss!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Case of CHS here. Ill stick with the Uni-Syn....lol...or it would never get right..

It would have to be really lean to burn a valve or hurt a piston, surely its not that far off. I have a weber setup and just fired my engine up recently and it is just like I remembered. Its too rich. I am going to rejet but I don't want to go too lean either. I have been thinking of buying one of these. gas tester

id LOVE to have both!
then i could be SURE about something! haha...
i think i need new jets too........z

I wish I had that problem right now!! I'm sure I will soon.

Nah, you should be fine, after some discussion Joe Curto and myself decided on a #3 needles for your carbs, which is a little richer than the stock ANs. I going to send the stock needles back with the carbs just in case the #3 are too rich.

My plug and play settings with your carbs will be #3 needles with the jets .050" down.

Is not far enough off to burn a valve for sure.

Use to have a uni-syn no telling where it got to. But then that is not the prob. The prob is just getting them to take the right amount of fuel. The mixture is just not right yet.

For idle mixture setting; instead of a gas analyser (and for a LOT less cash!), the ColourTune thingies work well enough. I've two in the box so's I can set up dual carbs without goin' into a juggling act. They work just fine for most LBC street engines.

On an A-series would you use cylinders #1 and #4?

I heard that they do not work well with some gasoline depending on the formulation. Any experience there?

#1 & #3 usually. Easier to see both. Never had an issue with different fuels. Sometimes they'll "soot" up, but some carb cleaner on a cotton swab cleans 'em easily.
