TR6 I have Webers in my TR6 - now looking for SUs

Once had a 65-model P1800, which had double SU's. Worked OK.

I think I'll have a go with my "Ferrari-mechanic" once more.

And of course, replace the fire extinguisher I used when the car started burning last time.

Anders, 6 pack site is down right now, so I'll input to you here. Haynes has a Techbook #10240, titled Weber Carburetor Manual, which also includes SU and Zenith Stromberg carbs.

It is a very good textbook for a non-mechanic displays the principles, design and rebuilding of Webers, Su's and ZS carbs. My version was printed in 1995, so there might be later editions.

I strongly recommend it for anyone who is "leery" of carburetor, repair, adjustment, etc...

I still think, that because you have the Webers already, dial them in. Once set up properly they can not be beat except for injection system...

That is the book I was thinking of. A great book with a lot of info. Read it a couple of times, and it will all start to come together for you Once you understand how carburetion works, it is a lot easier to "see" where yours are not working

:iagree:

Great reference material. Then if you want to get really serious there is a two volume "Theory" and "Tuning" set (likely out of print now) published by SpeedSport or some other British outfit, Classic Motorbooks used to sell 'em. They get right down to the maths.
