Not quite sure where I go from here.

Engine starts fine and wants to race.

Then drops off and quits.

Seems like I have been through this before. But I can adjust idle at this point.

Just do not know where to go from here. No clue, not even a bad idea, throtle bearings are tight, no movement at all. So I have a hard time beleiving air leaks there. No fuel leaks anywhere.

Chokes are all the way in, no prob there. they are up in the carbs properly, oil in the dash pots, flats at 9. Timeing changes make no difference.

Guess maybe the answer is new carbs, H2s if I must now. Will mess a bit more but seems hopeless.

Wish I had a pair of running carbs from someone close by that I could just throw on and test. I am out of ideas.

Oh yea, put two gal in just day before yesterday.

Float bowls are full, get fuel out the carbs when choke is engaged, not a lot but just what I would expect with engine off.

take the tops off the bowls gently and see if there is fuel in both

Still have the fuel pressure regulator set to 1 psi? If so, you might crank it up some.

When it dies, shut off the ignition and take the tops off the float chambers and see what the situation is. I'll bet you have a float valve sticking shut.

By the way, the guys on the Jag list report problems with fuel pressure regulators set at low pressures.

Looks like you got the same suggestions from a couple of others and answered them while I was fumbling with my message. Oh well....

I'm not good, but I'm slow.

Ok, will do. Noop have the regulator set up at 2.5 mark since about 11 this morning. Checking float bowls.

Fuel in bowls, floats floating a bit, needles loose and seem to work fine, no overflow.
