We have been looking for a new house for awhile now. The problem I have is I can never seem to find one with a garage big enough. The one I did fine (4 car garage upstairs and a rear entrance into the basement with 4 more stalls underneath) was 10,000 sq feet. Kinda big for me and the Mrs.

I like the garage setup but 10,000 sq. feet house??

Scott

I am with you. The place is still for sale if you are interested

Hello all...Happy Thanksgiving! I had a moment to work through some things these past weeks and am making some progress.

First: I did get some outside shots of the car and posted them here: https://www.tessfamily.com/Ferrari355/Ferrari%20355%202010/

Second: The electrics in this car are pretty rough. I have fixed several of the easy things, but there will be some surgery in the spring to correct other items....like missing components, hacked up fuse blocks & bypassed sensors. *sigh* But I will know the car well when I am done....just like my TR8.

I relied too heavily on the inspection I had done at a service center. I also did a poor job of inspecting the car myself. I really should have torn the the car apart more than I did. Live & learn

Hopefully I will get the TR8 and the 355 together for some photos on Sunday....but it did snow here last night :frown: Time to put these cars away after this weekend...dang.

Be well,

Randy

Randy I'm confused about the condition of your 355. Why would someone even tamper with the electronics of such a new car? Especially a Ferrari. I'm not sure what model it was but I did hear that the instrament cluster on one model could be a real nightmare. I can only imagine the frustration of trying to figure out the electronics on your car. Good luck, and I hope it all works out.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, and everbody else.

Howdy Keith,

I had a friend who owned a "380TSI" (Or something like that) (Poor Mans Ferrari); If there is any such thing!?!??! The "Passenger Side" (That would normally be a glove box) had a "Ton" of relays sitting there.

He had alot of problems starting the car; Very Intermittently. If she would`nt start; A couple of hard fists on the dash top & She would fire up "Occassionally".

The ultimate result was; "Bring it to an "Authorized" Ferrari shop which equals "BIG $$$" but problem was solved.

I guess the morale to this story is: Should you decide to buy some "Exotic" car; Your not going to ask "How many MPG it gets"! "Whats the cost of a tune-up" etc etc.

My $.02 worth (For whatever that may be worth).

The car was restoration from flood damage. The description of the repairs was impressive. However, I am not naive and expected some quirks, but the list is MUCH bigger than I expected.

Let's just say the resort didn't exactly match the brochure

You are 100% correct. This is not for the faint of heart. But I knew that going in.

There are relays & ECU's EVERYWHERE!! Once you understand how they are designed it make some sense. Each "process" has an ECU. Door locks, power windows, top, shocks, HVAC, engine, ABS, etc. You just get to trouble shoot each "loop" individually. The problem is the ECU cost. The ECU that controls the top is $3300. -gulp-

Had I not learned so much about my Triumph though hands on experience, the TR8 group I work with and the input from you folks here I would have never had the confidence give this a go.

The beauty is I do have a great option in repair help. If you ever need quality work done in Wisconsin, call the guys at Motion Products in Neenah. Awesome people.

Thanks.... Don't be too surprised to see a PM in the spring when this comes out of storage

BTW, I love your tag line...might get that printed on a poster for the garage

 be my guest. I am sure my car just sits there and thinks about ways to make me look foolish.

3300.00!!!?? for a chip? hmmm, gotta buddy of mine that makes his own ecu's for things other than cars..........

let's see, prolly nothing more than a bunch of "if-then" lines.

How hard can this be?
