The hub for my steering wheel is worn and loose. Wierd thing, never heard of that before but upon inspection the spindle cut out is made of aluminum or soft alloy and when you pull it off metal shavings are there. I have noticed play and this it what I found when I pulled the steering wheel off:
Wheel pulled right off the hub is loose on the splined steering shaft.
metal shavings as noted.
Can rotate the hub side to side because of the wear.

So I need a new hub. Nowhere on my steering wheel is a brandname, nor on the hub. I want to keep the steering wheel as it matches my dash. Anyone of you LBC Internet Guru's recognize the bolt pattern on my wheel?I am thinking Momo, definatley not a Grant bolt pattern.
The top to bottom screw measurement is 4" center to center.

Looks like a Momo/Sparco pattern to me, although not one of their wheels.

I have been web searching and it appears Momo is 2 3/4"
( 70mm ) from screw hole center to screw hole center so that's out.
Any one have a Mountney brand wheel that could measure for me? Or a 6 hole Tourist Trophy?

Mountney makes a similar design to this but with a plastic piece at the end of each spoke near the wood. They don't seem to have a company website.

I'd find out which brand of hub you currently have and buy a different brand...sounds like perhaps an inferior heat treat or similar quality issue.

Does any one have a Mountney, or Tourist Trophy steering wheel? If so if you could measure and report:
The measurement from the center of the top screw to the center of the bottom screw ( where wheel screws onto hub).
Thanks.

The measurement of the Mountney's opposing screws is 4". The Mountney doesn't have the top and bottom screws centered on the rim but since the six screws are equidistant this shouldn't matter. If you find a source for Mountney parts please post because I'm trying to find a Triumph logo horn push to replace the Mountney logo that came with mine.
