Question question - are the HS4 and HIF4 inter-carb linkages the same? Specifically how the throttle and chokes are linked?

Thanks.

I doubt it. Given the float bowl is on the bottom of an HIF, and off to the side of an HS, I doubt the linkages are the same. They probably attach to the cables the same or close to the same though.

The HS4's have a slightly longer interconnecting shaft. Probably somewhere around 3/4 inch more. All the other clips, pins, clevices etc are the same. Bob

I made linkage pieces up before, the round stuff is nothing more than bar stock. You can make it work by shortening or using a new piece of bar stock if you need it to be longer, it, and moving things around a bit. Remember anytime you are are working with strange linkage pieces that are not part of the original carb assembly, you need side to side play in the linkage or it will bind the throttle shaft.

5/16" stainless bar stock. Hap noted the most improtant thing: a bit of "slop tolerance" side-to-side so the shafts don't bind. They should tolerate 1/8"~3/16" movement with no problem.
