Yes, the comparison is obvious. But really, all we are debating, is whether a Cobra would be welcome on the AC forum. I don't know, but I wouldn't expect said Texan to get a warm welcome there (if there had been such things back then).
Personally, I feel there is room for all. Trying to draw a line and say "This is still a Triumph" (with aftermarket wheels, Toyota gearbox, Toyota brakes, etc, etc); but that is not a Triumph (because of a GM engine) just seems silly to me. But obviously, not everyone agrees.
For that matter, I would love to have a Cobra replica. I probably won't put a nailhead Ford engine in it, so I suppose it won't really be a "Shelby" but that's fine with me. (Anyone up for a supercharged small block :laugh: )
