If I used a toplink from a three point tractor hitch for radius arms. They are little heavy, but adjustable and cheap. Any ever tried this or see any problems? I may have to go to my local tractor dealer ship and see what he has.

Should I take comfort in that Kim?

OK, I looked them up online.

A category zero top link uses 5/8" pins, and most are adjustable from 10" to 16". They do weigh close to 5 pounds though.

Trevor, why not make your own using 3/4" aluminum tap tube and 7/16" Heim Joints? I've got a set here if you want the measurements.
Jeff

What is tap tube?

Hey I know you're looking for some serious feedback but look at it this way...if it doesn't work out you'll always be able to use it for hooking up to and using 3 point farming implements!!!

Trevor, "tap tube" is thick wall tubing with the ID sized for an appropriate tap. No drilling required. 3/4" tap tube accepts a 7/16"-20 tap.
Jeff

Ahh, gotcha..

what alloy? what would the wall thickness be?

Trevor, I think the stuff that I got was 7075, T-651, but I'd have to see if I can find the receipt to check. The wall thickness is about .190"
I'll dig through one of my material catalogues tomorrow at work.
Jeff

OK thanks

75,000 PSI is what my handbook is listing for tensile strength.

hmmm... where do I buy affordable rod ends?

Yeah, Mark. I made these up for one of the 1/4 elliptic race cars.
Jeff

Do I need teflon lined? That will be no less that $15 each. Tractor supply would have non-lined ones for $5-6.
