How much snow where your Triumph lives?

OK, I've had abut enough of this, it's snowing again 17 deg & blowing like crazy. They are saying 8-10", but that means 2' drifts by me as we are 1000' from the ocean. Anyhow my TR250 is tucked away under her cover in the corner of the garage & my Landcruiser is gonna be buried in snow in the morning. Looks like I'll have to fire up my 30+ year old Allis Chalmer (Homelite) tractor & blower at 5a.m. to get out of my driveway. (400' long!)

At least I have one toy to play with in the snow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We had the driest February on record. We have had no snow this winter. (Actually, we had just a smidge of snow for about five minutes -- but it looked more like frost.)

I've been driving my TR3 all winter! And it was nearly 60 degrees today!

The Wasatch front in Utah (SLC area) has had a VERY mild winter. Lots more rain than snow...in fact only fired the blower up twice. It's been such a nice winter I've managed to put over 200 miles on the Spider, taking her out on nice days. Today was in the low 60s...needless to say it was a topless driving day! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

AAAAK! you guys are makin' me sick. Yesterday it was 40 to 45 degrees. It was doing a good job of melting off the 8 inches we got last week. But this morning I woke up to 10 degrees with strong winds and a fresh 2 inches over all the frozen rain from yesterday! I had to chisel my way into my pathfinder and drive to work in 4wd. My parts car is a snowdrift, has been since Feb. and my projects are stacking up as I have to keep a bay open for the wifies minivan (she hates to scrape the windows, like I don't?), and my heater is out of commission in the garage.
Cooommme oooon May! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Over the winter here in St. Louis it's snowed about 3 or 4 times. My car has been safely resting in its garage and covered, only taken out on occassion. Can't wait to rust proof it.

Sam:

Here in California, we got the rain you were supposed to! However, we need it, the farmers are happy! (which doesn't happen often...)

Unfortunately, my TR6 won't be ready for the road until at least summer. Right now is "prime time," with temps in the 70's. sorry folks...

70s and sunny all week long. I seem to remeber snow about three years ago down here. If I remeber it right it is white, cold, and melts by noon.

Snow update: had 8-10" very windy 40-45mph & drifting. Wind chill is like -15 in Boston & -35 in the hills of Worcester 30 miles away. It has been in the 40's all week but still plenty of snow left. 13 deg at 9:00a.m.

HELP!!!

We got another inch yesterday, with ice under it. THe roads were clear, but my driveway is a sheet of ice. The Triumph lives in the detached garage, and big door is broke so it doesn't open.

We have had several small snowstorms, that melt a day or two after. THe flagstones out to my garage are in a swamp, when its not frozen. My lawn is more mud.

Still, intrepid travellers we are, three members of my Triumph club showed up Sunday morning in 35 degree weather for the monthly diner breakfast. A Stag, TR6, and TR8 all represented, tops up of course.

I live in Colorado and this winter has been so mild that I have driven the TR8 to work at least 1 or 2 days a week since November. Yesterday, we had partly cloudy at 8:00 am, a white-out at 10:00 am, clearing by 1:00 pm, snow completely gone by 2:30, and a high temp of 54F. So, I drove the Triumph to work in the morning and drove it home last night without even getting the tires wet! This morning, it was so warm when I left home, I didn't even need the heater. Tomorrow--more snow is forecast. So, typical Colorado weather--wait 5 minutes and it will change. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any snow is too much snow in my opinion.

Here in Maryland we get our share of Snow/Sleet/Freezing Rain, sometimes it seems like there is more Salt on the road than precipitation.

"I have been mowing my lawn all winter."
I'm gonna have to go mow my yard tomarrow night.

Here in upstate NY its the same thing..very cold and snow all the time! I'm ready to finish up my frame off TR-6 project, but there it sits covered in my garage. It's been too darn cold to even fire up the heater in the garage to work on it! Weatherman says this is going to stick around until the end of March...come on Spring!!!

Mowing, what's mowing?

Really, you guys give me grief for painting oil filters and inserting repro Lucas papers into glass fuses -- but with no snow and no lawn what else can I do with my time?

Here in central Minnesota we have very little snow. I pulled the engine and trans from the spitfire today and was laying on bare ground to do it. Been a very mild winter for me. Can't wait to get the spit working again and get on the road

Like Darwin, I live in Minnesota. We have not had much snow this year, it missed us and went to the east coast. However It has still been cold. At least my garage is heated!
