how LBC'rs spend vacation days...

I was in a situation where I had 3 project cars (and numerous boxes of parts)in the garage (and stashed here & there) but not enough space to work on one, which was "Earl" my 60' AH Bugeye project that I got back in August.
I just took 2 weeks vacation & completed building & "filling" 2 storage sheds, fortunately in my township you can build a 12' x 16' without a permit , so I built 2 of them, one I call the "Triumph Shed" & the other is the "Spridget" shed to house all of Midge's (my driver 67'Midget) & Earl's extra parts.
The most excitement was saturday night when I finally had all parts stowed & I got Earl in place & assembled the front sheetmetal with spring clamps to make it look like a car again - now I need to build a rotissarie & get "rollin"
Us LBC'rs must have a few bolts loose, who else would be excited about storage sheds for a bunch of ol' british car parts let alone blow 2 weeks vacation to complete such a task ? ha ha good stuff, like a family friend who has owned & restored LBC's all his life warned me, it's very addictive & they have a way of following you home !
I know everyone likes pictures, so here are some - one of each shed & one of Earl looking like a car... a very sick car but a car all the same.

That's pretty impressive for 2-weeks work.

How much beer did it take to get that done?

:savewave:Great job, and time well spent!

Thanks, ya I put in a few 12 hour days on the buildings, it was only about a 2 case job (2 - 24's) mostly myself working on them, but did have a few days with neighbour helping & my buddy a couple times, then beer consumption would go up

12 x 16 x ? 12 High? nicely done!

Nice! So, now you need 2 sets of tools - one for each shed.....

Tell me how you plan to keep the wifes stuff out.

Oh yea, which one will be heated and air conditioned?

it can't be done, trust me !!!!!!!

I bought a 45' freight trailer for storage for "both" of us and she took it over.

I bought a second one for the kids to use as a club house......she wants that too.......

If anything, parts cars are going in them. They both have lift gates and I think I can stuff a few in with that w/ some engineering.

Thanks

walls are 10' high.

I have a fool- proof plan to keeps the wifes stuff out... I'm 34 & still happily single

No heat, air conditioning or tools needed for either shed, just cold storage, now my 28' x 38' garage is empty of these projects so I do all my work in there, that's where my bugeye project is parked.

hopefully these sheds will suffice for a few years... until a couple more follow me home

Very nice work. You can come down to my place any day and build me one of those. I'll supply the beer...

Would happen to have build sheet and cost of materials for each shed to ya?

I do have a material sheet that I put together for the building supply to quote, think it's on my other computer I will try to get this weekend.
Here are 2 exterior pics, one after the first day & one 12 days later
very simple construction, basically 2x4x10's on 16" centers, double top sill, standard 4-12 12' trusses on 2' centers, strapped with galv metal roof, made the eves match to exactly 6 sheets wide (18' coverage). OSB sheeting, vertical joints capped with 1x4 pine "seconds" with 2 coats of cheap exterior stain, doors are just 2 sheets of OSB with 2x4 frame. Tried to use standard size material with minimal cutting to reduce build time & keep it simple, not building a rocket ship - just some cold storage buildings

Oh, and for the next project a car port between the two buildings for protected storage.

You do know this is how Tony got started.

your reading my mind Jack ! that 12' space between the buildings was intentional exactly for that purpose ! That is next springs project... 10' high at front to 6' at back, single pitch roof

If you make the back a bit higher you can have shelving in the rear as well.

hehehehehe.....I can see it now: 4,000 square feet of little sheds all connected!
