How did you discover BCF?

I honestly don't remember. Probably by a search engine but any memory over 3 days old is subject to extreme inaccuracy.

According to your profile:
"I don't know. Got lost and all the sudden here I was." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah, I couldn't even fall back on the old profile! Guess I should start respecting my old age and write things down.

I know the feeling. Lots of senior moments these days /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I've voted- but how then do we see the results? IS there a link somewhere that I'm overlooking?

The old British CAR Mag.

Don

Don't remember. Steve S. and I must have taken the same wrong turn!

As soon as you post your vote you should then be seeing the results in the thread instead of the voting buttons. If your not seeing the results in the post then your vote may not have taken for some reason. Might be something in your browser configuration?

Basil

How can we keep up with the results throughout the voting?

Oh, chuck cougill brought me over here...wish I could bring him back....maybe we all should email him & invite him back!

What has always puzzeled me is how some of the very first members found their way here even before Google had picked my up or I was on any other web sites. I think it may have been from a posting I made in one of those alt.newsgroups.

I remember the first "real" member to actually join BCF was berniewest from UK who owns a Spitfire 1500. He is member #7 (I think I had some "test" members I made up when I first started the forum who had #'s 3,4,5,6 (I'm #2). Number 1 doesn;t exist - its reserved for some sort of psudo member so the member database isn't empty when you first install the program.

I haven't seen Bernie on here in ages.

Basil

I know for a fact that I didn't find the site through any newsgroup. I would have found it one of two ways. Either by a link from another site or forum, or by a web search.

I got turned on to this little place from the now defunct British Car Magazine. I'm also having the problem of not seeing the poll results, Bas. Though it said I had already voted when I tried to vote again.

If I recall, I think I read about it in Austin Healey Magazine.

What Browser are you using and is your security settings set very high? (Just guessing at what it could be). Try clearing your cookies (From bottom of your "My Home" page I think. Then log back in and see if that helps.

RG sent me over here. She told me about it, and I didn't get around to finally visiting for quite a bit. Once I did, I was hooked.

Walt, I could have sworn that British Car Magazine was renamed Classic Motorsports. When I bought my father a subscription at PRI all the free samples said Classic Motorsports (formerly British Car) or something like that.

Hot DA-um...clicked on page 1 & went to Basil's initial post & foud results of the poll so far....I've gotta mess around on the site to see what I can learn.

We british car enthusiasts have the ability to find extremely obscure parts , tools, and information.
Personally, I was following a virtual MGB one night, and wound up here.
I recognised it as an MGB from the flickering headlights, and one taillight out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
