Wow! That's really...........cool! Sorry, there was just no other way to say that!! :D

Interesting photo...

We're also having a very warm winter here in Calgary and southern Alberta, one ski hill had to close for the season already due to lack of snow  But I'd love to visit Niagara Falls right now, looks like some amazing ice formations, as reported on the news...

Here's the temp at my house in north NJ yesterday. The camera was at a slight angle but it was truly 0F. This was at 8 AM and with no wind. It was colder, earlier.

(this is -18 in Celsius)

My cousin Denis, who is a wedding photographer, does a lot of "hobby shots" (he's actually a retired cop).
Yesterday he went to the Paterson Falls here in New Jersey and shot these:

Does Paterson Falls usually freeze in the winter? Here in Alberta any waterfall freezes in winter, simply due to how cold it gets, well... most winters anyway... The fun thing (visually) with waterfalls is that when they freeze every winter the ice form will always be different in the way it forms...

Some ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies... A popular sport here...

Will never forget when the Red River froze from bank to bank in Shreveport - 1983. Somewhere stored away with all our pictures I have a snapshot of my brother-in-law and me in my pirogue scooting across the ice on a pocket of Cross Lake behind our house.

Forget if I posted these before. We have a Summer house on a lake and ice fishing is real popular there.

In fact, I was there today and there were at least 20 people out ice fishing.

Here's photos taken of us at our lake a few years ago. We are standing in the middle of the lake on ice with about 30 feet of water under us. It's the same today.

Yesterday, I was at Princeton University and there were a number of folks ice fishing on the canal next to the school.

Ok do not hate me. I took my Sprite out today for a short drive to my brother's farm. The fog did not burn off until 2:00 pm but Spring has arrived here in California and it is 61 degrees :encouragement:

I was taught if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all...... Note the silence
Glad you got to drive your Sprite... spring can't come soon enough. Today I plowed about 5 inches of snow from my driveway and it's still snowing.

Actually, I am happy for you (and no I am not choking as I say it) one of the things I love about the forum is that I get to enjoy others experiences vicariously. So, yes I wish it were warmer here but I am really happy someone gets to drive! drive on - and post pics, it gives the rest of us hope.

I took my Sprite out too (last Monday - President's Day). Balmy here in Portland. :wink-new:

7F??!!!! In the SW? Is this the high desert of NM?

Our February records are being shattered here in the PNW (for little rain and for little cold and no snow at all). I'd like a little winter and would gladly accept some from the east (but only just some ).

Mark- PM me your address and a big box of winter will gladly be sent to you.

How big a box? :wink-new:

We never get much winter, but I enjoy it when we do. The Pacific ocean moderates the NW.
That written, I hated winters in Chicago back in the late 70s.

Don't bother, I tried that once, all the snow melted and the cold air leaked out to be replaced by room temperature air. and the post office refused to even look for the cold air!

I'll just have to imagine it (this year).
