so how big of a rim have you put on a sridget i was thinking maby 20s with rubber bands for tires you kno maby some spinners haha tell me wat you think

I think you should decide if you want a car that drives and handles well, or if you want a car that looks like it belongs in a cartoon.

Your car ... the decision is yours, but you will need to order custom (meaning one-off) rims to fit the bolt pattern and offset.

hahahaha well you kno i wasent gunna really do it but me and my dad are thinking for a day of taking his rims off his mini witch i think are like 12s or something and do that for a day

can't go wrong with 12s if you can find the tires! I'd love to run a lower profile tire /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I run 13x5 miniators. They're as wide as will fit.

duece dueces (22's) on a midget? I'd like to see pictures of that! I don't see how they would fit the wheel wells.

I was seriously thinking of 15" minilites with low profile tires. I've seen a guy that makes billit aluminum adapters so you can convert to like a honda wheel.

I was joking guys!

BE has 13x5 with 165 80's
Midget has 13x4 wires with 145 80's

If you can find Cosmos rims, you can put 175/70 R13 tires on a RWA midget.
Got them on mine. No rubbing, great grip.

GTsRFine,

That's a sweet lookin car. Definitely like the rims. Something different besides the standard Minilites. Weren't those original on Alfa Romeos or something like that?

I have OE weird rostyle things on mine, but no spare, I'm having a hard time finding a spare, and tires for that matter.
1 Can I keep any 13" a spare?
2 Can I mix tire types, tube, tubeless if I need a spare
3 Shall I get 5 all new wheels and tires so I don't have to worry about finding tires, tubes etc in future?

The local tires shops don't have any, one laughed and said his horse trailer had bigger tires. I replied that it needed to to keep his wife in, but......

OK, no attachment, too big. Here's a link to a picture with them... web page

If you considering 15" Minilites, why not get a set of Superlites drilled for the proper bolt pattern, the guys in Arizona are doing this now. I think anything wider than a 5.5" wheel and you gonna need flares though. We have to use flare in the SCCA race cars for 6" wide wheels and if you don't have RWA Midget, you going to do a bit of fender cutting.

Thanks Hap,
I'm not considering any major body modifications, I've just realized that finding these tires are hard, and may have to replace the wheels to accomodate a common tire. My 74 is RWA, so 14" is likely, 15" expensive but would look good.
Good article in july newsletter btw.

Hmmm, could you get a 185/60R14 on a street midget? There are a good selection of tires in that range.

Maybe on an RWA, but not the square arch type.

One 13x5s, 175/50R13s required minor fender work for clearance. I basically had to recenter the rear axle (move the washers around on the front spring mounts), then cut some small incissions in the fender lip every 1" and then push them back/up with a 5lbs hammer.

No rubbing now, even in tight corners.

Yes, I was speaking of a RWA car. I might have to do some measuring because the clearance at the leaf springs is a definite issue.

OK, the people at PackRacing said they fit no problem, and that Carl used them on his SWA car (after rolling the fenders out). I'm waiting to hear from carl on the GRM message board.

got a link to the GRM thread?

If I could sneak hooser 185/60ZR13s on my SWA midget that would rock!!!

Hey Baz,
I have a set of 4 rims that I think match yours that I was going to put on EBAY but never got around to it. Any offers?
