Hood frame mounting brackets position

I am about to set out my BJ7 hood frame so that I can weld the hood mounting brackets in the right place on the wheel arch. I have the hood frame, wooden header rail, hood clamps, header rail seal and the header rail retainer but am not sure in which order they should go.
My intention was to use the hood clamps to clamp the hood frame to the windshield and then work backwards to the mounting brackets which I assumed would become clear where they go as the frame would be fully open ?
As I have no measurements and these are new wheel arches I don't see any other way.
I figure the wooden header is screwed to the hood frame but that's about as much as I can figure out.

Rob,
I would also recommend that you have your doors and glass installed so you can make sure the top fits around the window ok both fore and aft and up and down. My BJ8 top fits the passenger window better than the driver side and I don't have any more adjustment in the mounting bracket. You will need to have the wood pieces around the window attached to the bow. Have a good day!

Rob, if you still have the old wheel arches maybe you can guess estimate where they go. If you have another car from a club member in your area maybe you can get some measurements, side to side and fore and aft, off another car? It's important to get the bracket top to floor correct as mentioned.

Do you have any pictures, the wood bow obviuosly screws to the frame but where do the header seal and rail retainer fit ??

I maybe be able to measure off another car, are all models the same ?
Anyone know the floor to bracket height ?

Rob, these measurements are critical. If you've removed the inner fender did you also replace the rear floor pans and/or rear bulkhead?
How about some photos of the stage you're in?

I replaced mine using a cardboard template from the original positions, trial fitted the hood frame with the brackets only tacked.

Theres also a pic of measurements taken. I'm still messing around with the window gap to cant rail fit (car originally had one packer piece). Just need to get the motivation to realign screen / quarterlights and door glass to give better fit.

Thanks for the pictures, any chance you could email me a copy of the drawing with the measurements on, I can't read it at that size ?
What is the box section below the mounting bracket in the footwell ? is this some strengthening piece or just relevant to the BJ8's

I tacked the brackets in place where I thought they should go and all seemed ok although I have not fitted the door glass yet. From my understanding as long as the gaps are ok round the window glass then as I am getting a hood made to fit it shouldn't be an issue.

Those boxes are for the radius arms on a BJ8.
