Hood/Bonnet props

If all you need is an early prop rod, contact me when I get home in January - I've got them for about $5 each plus shipping!

Julian - did you just miss this post that I made on the 5th?

Tony - No, I saw that. I have quite a list of things I wanted from you (see PMs) ... but guessed you were too busy with your trip preparations as I hadn't heard back from you.
Thanks!

Julian, best way is to send Tony an email with the subject of Parts. That way it gets through his spam filter.

& I can't help with used parts until later in month...flying early tomorrow morning!

If the hood is an early ~aluminium~ one, the telescoping one has potential to be damaging. Too much resistance can kink the hood. If it's the steel one it likely would work fine.

Is there an easy way of telling which I have, other than searching for a magnet?!

...ummm... Look onna 'fridge (the big white box in your kitchen)... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

...can't believe you don't have a magnet lyin' about somewheres. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Now, why didn't I think of that?

Yes: it's steel, not alumin(i)um. So looks like a telescoping prop would be safe ....

First, I put gas struts from Rick on both the hood and deck of my old roadster and I am very happy with them.

Second, Tony, are you going to be stuck over there all through Christmas? Not going to see the young'un open presents? That sucks! Hope they are paying you the BIG bucks this time around for that!
