Ok this is weird!
In preparation for my 30 year high school reunion - I was poking around on my High School’s Alumni’s web page, (North High School Torrance Kalifornia) when I decided to click on the page that described those fellow alumni who’ve achieved notoriety over the years.
It’s a short list but it’s all over the map!
Jason 'Wee Man' Acuna Class of 1991. A dwarf/little person (whatever the PC term is) is the short guy in the Jacka$$ MTV show and was in the Jacka$$ movie in 2002. I had no idea who he was until my teenage son told me about him and showed me some of his work. All I can say is I guess it’s time to figure out how to block channels on the cable box.
Chris Mortensen Class of 1969. Sports caster for ESPN reports for ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown," "Monday Night Countdown," "SportsCenter," ESPN Radio and ESPN.com
Bob 'The Bear' Hite Class of 1960, Canned Heat “On The Road Again” in 1968 and “Going Up The Country” in 1969. “Canned Heat gained international attention and secured their niche in the pages of rock ‘n roll history with their performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival (along with Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who) and the headlining slot at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969.”
And probably the most famous - Or is it infamous? (depending if you’re a Hollywood critic) is a fella by the name of……
Chuck Norris Class of 1958, Thats right folks “Walker, Texas Ranger went to the same high school as I did. The guy who stared in scores of action films like the Delta Force & Missing in Action films and its sequels amoung others.
After high school Norris joined the Air Force while in Korea, he began to study the Asian martial art. Returning he eventually started teaching full-time and running a number of martial arts schools. His students included Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley, and the Osmonds. In 1968, Norris became the Professional World Middleweight Karate Champion. He held the title undefeated until he retired in 1974.
Like I said not a lot of famous alumni but we're all over the map.
So anybody else have any famous Alumni graduate from their high school?
