High School Alumni - Hall of Fame?

Ok this is weird!

In preparation for my 30 year high school reunion - I was poking around on my High School’s Alumni’s web page, (North High School Torrance Kalifornia) when I decided to click on the page that described those fellow alumni who’ve achieved notoriety over the years.

It’s a short list but it’s all over the map!

Jason 'Wee Man' Acuna Class of 1991. A dwarf/little person (whatever the PC term is) is the short guy in the Jacka$$ MTV show and was in the Jacka$$ movie in 2002. I had no idea who he was until my teenage son told me about him and showed me some of his work. All I can say is I guess it’s time to figure out how to block channels on the cable box.

Chris Mortensen Class of 1969. Sports caster for ESPN reports for ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown," "Monday Night Countdown," "SportsCenter," ESPN Radio and ESPN.com

Bob 'The Bear' Hite Class of 1960, Canned Heat “On The Road Again” in 1968 and “Going Up The Country” in 1969. “Canned Heat gained international attention and secured their niche in the pages of rock ‘n roll history with their performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival (along with Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who) and the headlining slot at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969.”

And probably the most famous - Or is it infamous? (depending if you’re a Hollywood critic) is a fella by the name of……

Chuck Norris Class of 1958, Thats right folks “Walker, Texas Ranger went to the same high school as I did. The guy who stared in scores of action films like the Delta Force & Missing in Action films and its sequels amoung others.
After high school Norris joined the Air Force while in Korea, he began to study the Asian martial art. Returning he eventually started teaching full-time and running a number of martial arts schools. His students included Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley, and the Osmonds. In 1968, Norris became the Professional World Middleweight Karate Champion. He held the title undefeated until he retired in 1974.

Like I said not a lot of famous alumni but we're all over the map.

So anybody else have any famous Alumni graduate from their high school?

Terry Kinney was in my graduating class of '72 at Lincoln Community High School in Lincoln, IL.

He was better known for his thespian work at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, but has had small roles in several movies and TV shows, as well as HBO movies.

The ones I can think of in entertainment that graduated from Morgantown High, WV are Don Knotts, Lawrence Kasdan (writer, director, producer, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Big Chill, etc.), and David Selby (vampire Quentin Collins in Dark Shadows).

Larry Kasdan and my sister reviewed a movie for the school paper. They panned it, but it turned out to be a big hit. He aked my sister out, but she turned him down.

Vanessa Williams Graduated from my highschool a few years before I did. My sister was in her class and I draduated with her brother. Let just say she was not the best egg in the school and VW and my sis had a run in.
Full circle note here - My sis is married to an actor who is in "Ugly Betty" with VW. Sis and her husband met with VW face to face and all my sis could think about was what happened in HS. VW probably did not even know who my sis was.

I'm going to check the site and see who else went to my school.

Yep, I went to a High School with a bunch of nobody's from no where and loving every minute of it!

bah! My High School isn't even on the list... Choctawhatchee High School...

Not a very complete list. My HS nor my wifes schools are there. I graduated in a huge class as well as she. You think they'd be there.
