I have a similar Kenwood unit in my BJ8... but I still like the Garmin MP3 unit to put behind the speaker grill... only problem is Garmin doesn't have Hong Kong maps in its database! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Well how about Chinese equivalents to the Garmin that are compatible with: SlashDot, SlashGeo or China's United Telecommunications systems. I do not know if they are compatible with one another or not. I do know that Shanghai Taxis are equipped with GPS, how about taxis in Hong Kong?---Keoke
 
The only map GPS program for Hong Kong that I am aware of is Map King, which works exclusively on Windows CE/mobile platforms.

Since I absolutely hate Windows Mobile (e.g. battery hog & daily crash-meister) and its stupid Windows style OS (i.e. completely user unfriendly for a mobile platform), I have no options. Garmin's sytems are great... wish they worked here.

Hong Kong taxis don't use GPS systems because it's uneccessary, 85% of the cabbies know practically every building and street in town.

Hi HN, I was not aware of that limitation. So I guess you will just have to wait until the Beidou/Galieo marriage is full up and running. Reportedly they will have 34 Satellites in the system.--Keoke?
