I was recently able to get a certificate with the BAEXXXX body number, photographs of the the car and a description of the original color of the interior and exterior.
Unfortunately this car is missing all identifying "traceable" tags including the BAE. Only tag on the car is the non traceable Factory Commission # AN530252 from LHD driver's side door pocket. That number approximates the build date to Jan1960 and the detective investigating the criminal case against the seller has used that date to identify two possible VINs registered to previous owner, who is now deceased. He obtained from HMC car details for both cars, so I have VIN, BAE and engine numbers. Both unfortunately both cars were also Antique White with Red trim (same as my car) so that did conclusively identify the car. Hence the question about axle housing number ....
Now trying to "match" one of these two VINs to the North Carolina numbered window registration sticker from 1987, and hopefully that will help obtain the title.
Long story....will write it up in full if we are successful in finding the VIN.
