I'm on the fence.
On the one hand, I've been using Pertronix for almost 20 years with the only problems being directly caused by me - I fried one by leaving the key on and attempting to test the spark from the coil.
On the other hand, until fairly recently finding good points and reliable condensers was hit-and-miss.
With one or two exceptions, most of the concerns on the thread appeared to be not from personal experience. The hard-starting was new to me and may be affecting my Healey which seems to be hard to start. Of course I drive it more occasionally than I used to with the TR6 to work on.
The phasing issue is a new one on me - never heard of it in the Healey world. I wonder if the 22D6 is any more prone to phasing than, say, the DM6. Is this a function of a worn shaft or the cap design?
Will switch out the Healey to Kettering and report back if it's easier to start.
