Was just out to the shed getting Gray Lady ready for our annual trek to Boyertown, PA for Duryea Day. Seems that the passenger -side bonnet hinge pin decided to fall out and its missing. :mad-new:

I don't have an extra pin or hinge, so does anyone have a solution that will get us through the day?

Thanks

If your local hardware store is still open, they should have a split spring pin that will fit.

I have replaced the hinge pins in the boot hinges with cap bolts & nylocs. I did this to make it easy to install and remove the luggage rack that locates in those holes.

I see no reason why this wouldn't suit as a temporary fix for a bonnet hinge.

I once used a bit of leftover brazing rod.

But with pretty much any of the temporary solutions, I think you'll want a new hinge later on.

Thanks gentlemen - found some of those split pins at the local HF. I must be getting too old to think of obvious solutions like that.

Cheers, Frank
