TR4/4A Help indentifying these

I have nearly finished my chassis restoration and have two pieces left. They are coated in POR15 so they should be chassis parts. the holes in the reinforced part are tapered (the side you see). About 4 1/2" long. I have looked at various parts blow-ups and have looked at the chassis and can't seem to see where they go. This is embarrassing but can anyone tell me what (and where) these pieces are? This is off a IRS car. Bruce

They look like the braces that go on before tightening the lower wishbone nut to the chassis? One front and one rear on each side, so 4 total. They support the outside of the lower suspension through bolt.

Second guess is the outside brackets for the pedal box?

Possibly for a front sway bar attachment on each lower control arm.

John I looked at drawings and the car and cannot see where those whould go on the lower wishbone's. Although my pedal box is out in the shed I don't see them on the box either in drawings. The car did not have a sway bar on it when I got it but the PO had not had the car that long and he just threw it together from the previous owner's disassembly. They are obviously designed to hold something significant since they are reinforced at the hole. I will look at the possibility of sway bar brackets.

Randy - It appears to me that you are right. The aftermarket sway bar mounts do not match but in the Moss catalog under factory sway bar it looks exactly like the mounting plates there. But this is interesting - according to the Moss drawing these mounts were used on TR4's but TR4A's used a different mount (TR6 type). ???? Why do I have these on the car? I am going to speculate that a PO tried to put a TR4 sway bar on only to find it did not fit right and had to take the bar off. He also put H6 carbs on (TR4) it and a TR4 valve cover as well. Had some TR4 parts that he just had to do something with I guess. But guys, thanks for you help I was worried I had left something off. Bruce
