Found the site by being sad enough to Google my own name, and finding people talking about my car!
1972 Triumph Stag 4x4 - one of the two made. One manual with overdrive (mine), and an auto. Both with what would today be called ABS. Not a factory job, but a concept car modified by Ferguson, funded by GKN who owned the viscous coupling patent (after bankrolling Ferguson). The idea was to get the British motor industry to embrace the concept of a top of the model range 4x4 (just like we have today). Early 70's, British motor industry embrace a new concept?? Fat chance. Modified Capri's were so successful in rallying, they got banned!!

Best part of ten years later, the world fell over when Audi launched the Quattro. The rest, is history........

Wecome aboard..used to be stationed at RAF Mildenhall..really miss England...have a CGT...a BGT...three b roadsters and an A coupe..lots of good people and info here.

Hello from Sunny PA. (For a change of pace)!

"Welcome" to the wonderful world of LBCs on the "BCF".

Interesting how you found the site but the important thing is "You Found It"!

Have Fun Here as I`m sure you will.

Regards,

Russ

Cool...

I recall reading an article about these Stag 4x4's, I love interesting and unique versions of cars.

So is your's fully restored? And welcome to the forum! Folks on here from all over the world, just enjoying each other's company...

Welcome from a fellow Brit, transplanted over here. Still a long-suffering Wolves fan!

You have an interesting car, and I agree with you on what "could have been". Do you have any pictures you could throw at us?

There's a few Stag owners on the BCF but they are outnumbered and tend to be a wee bit quiet, so make yourself known in the Triumph forum and I'm sure that they'll start sticking their heads around the door to see what all the commotion is about!

Welcome again......

Hello, and welcome to the Forum - post some pictures!!
