My name is Patrick. My pops has a 1964 TR4 that has been sitting untouched in his garage for about ~23 years. He bought it from a junkyard back in 73 for about $80, though it wasn't in bad condition from what I remember; maybe the engine was blown. He and a friend rebuilt the engine and got it running but soon found that the block was cracked. The engine was torn down....but that is as far as he got. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif
Anyhow, I am in the research stage at this point with the intent of trailering it from his house to mine.
I'll most likely be in lurk mode until then. I am an Army officer that is 'stationed' at college working on a degree and only have a year left, and I'm still working on, though nearly completed, with my Subaru Impreza project; so it may be months before I begin on the Triumph. The body isn't too bad, though I do plan on dipping it. I have no idea about the frame, but I'm pretty confident that it hasn't accumulated too much rust over the years and it isn't bent. The engine is a goner due to rust. He still has all of the hardware, but the block is obviously still cracked and the heads are awfully rusty, probably not worth the cost of dipping.
In the meantime, this looks like a tremendous site and I plan on doing much reading. I was surprised to see the Triumph forum had 43 folks viewing, which is always a good sign.
Thanks for the resource.
