Just a quick shout out to anyone close to Sonoma Raceway, Kevin Adair and myself will be competing this weekend at > 2023 Mission Foods Sonoma SpeedTour | SVRA <
Representing the Austin Healey marque, we'll be racing out-manned as usually, the only big Healeys in the race grid, but well tuned and well experienced.....B)

Big Healeys are seldom seen on tracks here in the eastern US though Rich Maloumian is competitive in his 100 and Jon Einhorn often drives his 3000 in VSCCA events. I believe both are entered in the VSCCA Empire Cup race at Lime Rock Park this Memorial Day where I'll be racing with them, though in the Ginetta G4. I (sometimes) drive my 100 to race events but that's as close as my Healey gets to the track.

My hat is off to you Dougie and I admire anyone who can push a Healey around a circuit in a competitive manner as because of their displacement Healeys are often running in big-bore and there are a lot of faster, better handling cars in that class. Plus Big Healey speed components are expensive

Team Healey represented well, Kevin Adair in # 171 podiumed and I in # 414 finished mid-pack while breaking in a refreshed motor and re-learning the the ever technical Sonoma (Sears Point) Raceway. Family and friends enjoyed a wonderful weekend of great food and wine in Sonoma.

Further to my earlier post that Healeys are often placed in a tough crowd below is a list of the Group 6 entries for the upcoming Empire Cup at Lime Rock Park. I'll be driving my Ginetta G4 as will Rich Maloumian in his fast 100 but look at the list of entries and consider that many are out and out race cars as opposed to production cars modified for the track, etc, etc.

Nice going and--your good driving notwithstanding--my point is that, probably based on displacement versus performance potential, Healeys are thrown into the deep end of the pool. BTW I do not see any Cooper Monaco's or Brabham B-31's in your group.
