TR6 Headlight switch - can it be rebuilt?

My headlight rocker switch works intermittently in the fully-on position. They're backordered at the Usual Suspects.

Is it possible to take the switch apart and rebuild or rejuvenate it?

For the Lucas switch, how much enlargement of the opening is required?

Hi Steve, I did the repair on the switch shown on the Experience Forum. It's not in a car but I've cycled it about 100 times and it seems OK. The metal contact affair the ball rolls over is pretty touchy and hard to fix if it gets bent or out of alignment. Take the halves apart carefully by drilling out the glue in the 6 depressions and carefully separating. Watch out for the spring and steel BB that are probably loose in the bottom. I put the headlights on a relay so the 8 or so amps wouldn't have to pass through the switch. Jeff

Many moons ago in my wife’s triumph (forgot all about it) I used an electrical roll switch for ac current to get I think 3 poles on at the same time. It looked really Mickey Mouse, but worked well (this was probably 1975) and the stock factory replacement switches had been recalled or something then many years later got one in the mail from triumph.
