How do they compare to an SU pump for operation and durability? PJ

Gosh, I miss Dave already.:blue:

Paul - I've got my original SU and it works fine. Of course, the 60 year old MG has only 37K miles total!

A friend here recommends the SU solid state pumps, as well as Hardi and Ecco. From several user groups, they all have excellent reputations for reliability and "staying power".

Fitted a number of the solid-state SU units, including one for our personal MGB. So far there have been no issues with any of them.

Thanks guys, I was just comparing pumps for future reference. I have always used SU pumps, Dave D. converted the one on the 72 B to electronic and the pump on the TF is electronic also, no problem with either. Moss seems to be getting out of site on SU pumps, I found another supplier selling the same new SU pump 40 bucks cheaper. :encouragement: PJ

I installed one in my gt as the SU pump no longer fit in the stock location after installing frontline's 5 link suspension. Works well and sounds almost like an su pump but the click is a bit deeper and more precise. One thing I ran into was a bit of fuel starvation during long pulls. Like the SU it's touchy about any leaks and like the SU it needs to be oriented correctly. Fixed the leak and it almost went away. The instructions that came with the pump did not mention the correct orientation which is the fuel outlet needs to be on the top if mounting horizontal. I had it upside down. Now that it's correctly mounted works perfectly.
